What is a Voice difficulty?

 

Voice refers to the quality of a child’s voice.

Voice difficulties refer to a change in voice quality.

 

Characteristics of Voice Difficulties:

 

  • Husky or hoarse voice quality

  • Too much air coming out of the nose (hypernasal)

  • Not enough air coming out of the nose (hyponasal)

  • Speaking too high/low for the child’s age.
